Liam joined the Veith House in 2021, coming on late in the season as the Urban Farm Assistant. Originally from Antigonish, he went to St. Francis Xavier University where he completed his BSc in Geology. After finishing his degree, he decided to pursue work that intrigued him from childhood, farming. He worked 3 seasons on Wise Earth market garden in Kelowna, BC where he also indulged in the bounty of outdoor activities (skiing, biking, hiking, ultimate etc.). Liam returned to Halifax in 2020, to reconnect with family and friends, and to pursue an entrepreneurship program for his vintage clothing company. Liam is passionate about growing food and appreciates the social, economic, and environmental benefits of locally and organically grown food.  He is very excited to take the leap to the Urban Farm Coordinator in 2022, and share the role with colleague and good friend Justin

Justin joined Veith House in February 2021, first as a tenant, then in September 2021 as an Urban Farm Assistant. Excited to continue working on the farm as a coordinator, his interest in farming comes from a background of interdisciplinary work on land use, climate change, and sustainable food systems. He graduated from McGill in 2016, and is currently pursuing a post-grad certificate in Food Bioscience at Dalhousie’s Agricultural Campus. He’s excited to bring these interests to life on the farm, from projects in the Veith House commercial kitchen, to the Annual Seedling Sale. When not at Veith House you can find him hanging with friends and family, in the woods, or making small-batch tempeh at Veith House!
