The clinic provides assessments and services for children from Nova Scotia with a variety of neurodevelopmental and related behavioural problems on an outpatient basis. Referrals for autism diagnostic assessments should be directed to the IWK Autism Team. To be seen in our clinic, a referral is required by a medical doctor, nurse practitioner or dentist. Meghann -- YMCA Summer Work Student Exchange

Provides the opportunity for students ages 16-17 (by July 1st) to travel to Quebec via train and live with host families. They are provided with the opportunity to work for a nonprofit as well as take part in cultural activities. While there, students are supported by a local YMCA coordinator.

Youth do not have to be fluent in French to attend, will have opportunity to strengthen french as a second language

Ability to accommodate youth with needs such as autism, mental health concerns, etc.

The cost is $125, if needed other options can be discussed

Families of the Youth who take part in the program are asked to host a student from Quebec, however if not possible that is ok. Looking for families to act as a host.

The Toastmasters are an international club with the purpose to help people become more comfortable speaking in large groups, making presentations and to become more confident leaders.

This event gives people the opportunity to practice their interviewing skills in a low stress environment. Like speed dating, participants will be matched up with multiple employers for mini interviews with the hope of overcoming any fears or anxiety around job interviews.

There is a chance that participants could receive a formal interview from employers that are present.

Partner program with McPhee for 16-30 year old youth to get involved in a free film-making course. It takes place every Thursday night and participants have the opportunity to create a short film to be entered in the Bluenose Ability Arts and Film Festival (more information about event on facebook)
