Welcoming, affordable space in Halifax’s North End
Veith House offers affordable rooms and a licensed community kitchen for meetings, workshops, activities, small gatherings and community events.

Available spaces
Boardroom
Our largest rental room is a flexible, multi-purpose space that can be arranged with tables and chairs for meetings, workshops or classes; set up with activity or display stations; or left open for mixers, receptions and other social gatherings. Located on the main floor.
Coffee/Meeting Room
A quiet, intimate room ideal for one-on-one conversations, interviews, consultations or small meetings of up to four people. The room has historic character, with a decorative non-functioning fireplace and original oak mantle.
Community Kitchen
A licensed, fully equipped kitchen suitable for food preparation, cooking workshops, community meals, catering preparation and other food-focused activities. Located on the basement level.
Youth Room
A bright, informal space with a classroom or playroom feel, well suited to children’s activities, tutoring, creative workshops, small group programs and other hands-on learning experiences. Located on the second floor.
Licensed Kitchen
The Veith House Community Kitchen provides licensed kitchen space for community use. Standard rental rates apply. Community groups experiencing financial barriers may contact us to discuss reduced or waived fees.
Rental rates

$25 per hour
-
$75 for up to four hours
A $25 cancellation fee applies when a booking is cancelled within 48 hours of the scheduled rental.
Payment may be made by e-transfer to payment@veithhouse.ns.ca. Refunds are issued by cheque.
After-hours rentals
Regular Veith House hours are Monday to Thursday, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Bookings outside those hours, or on a holiday, require a $50 key deposit. The deposit is returned in cash when the key is returned.

About our Community Kitchen
We created the community kitchen to bring people together through food, shared meals and community connection. Community meals are offered throughout the year by Veith House. We believe in the value of coming together through food and building relationships over shared meals.
