Veith House Urban Farm

The Veith House Urban Farm is an inclusive space where people of all ages can gather and grow together. The farm is located beside Veith House itself and has 22 raised garden beds, a perennial herb patch, an on-site composting setup, a large greenhouse for season extension, and a volunteer-run community chicken coop. Throughout the spring we grow seedlings which are sold or donated to community members and organizations. Whereas through the summer and fall, we produce vegetables that are freely distributed to community members. Much of the produce is also shared through our community meal program.

Food Security

The Veith House Urban Farm aims to improve community access to locally grown produce. We also aim to equip community members with the tools to grow food off-site through education-based programming and resource sharing. We are dedicated to improving food security and sovereignty within the North End community and beyond.

Volunteer

Volunteers (individuals or groups) are welcomed on the farm! We encourage you to reach out if you are interested in growing with us or if you have a project you want to explore. You can contact us via urbanfarm@veithhouse.ns.ca to arrange a visit.
